Proper Scalp Preparation Instructions

Cleaning and preparing your scalp before you attach your hair system is essential to a secure bond. Follow the instructions below carefully to ensure your hair system is properly attached.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

	Step 1: Begin by wiping all visible traces of hairpiece adhesive residue from your scalp with a wet towel or cloth. Using a paper towel and adhesive remover rub vigorously until your scalp is clear of any residue.
	Step 2: Next, hop into the shower and wash your entire head, hair and scalp thoroughly at least two times. While showering, thoroughly scrub your scalp and hair with bar soap (we recommend using an exfoliating glove). Rinse and repeat 4-5 times. This will help ensure any trace of hairpiece adhesive residue is completely eliminated. Quick Fact: 1 part per million (1/1000000) of remaining adhesive remover can break down and shorten the duration of your bond by as much as 10% For best results, finish washing your scalp and hair with Deep Cleansing Shampoo. This will help balance the pH in your skin. It's also helpful to use an exfoliating glove while in the shower.
	Step 3: After showering, be sure to fully dry your head and scalp with a towel and/or blow dryer, removing all excess moisture. This would also be a good time to remove or shave any hair or stubble from the bonding area. We recommend using an electric screen razor for the closest shave.
	Step 4: Last, we highly recommend applying a layer of waterproof sealant, such as our Scalp Prep, to your skin. This will help protect your skin as well as encourage adhesion with the toupee tape or adhesive. (Allow the Scalp Prep to completely dry before attaching your hair system.) After you have completed the scalp preparation, and only after, you will then be ready to attach your hair system!
